I know it is not in the Bay Area, but you should take a look at the Sacramento Press. Online-only community press. They hired 2 professionals but do the rest of content with amateurs' help, they're getting advertising and seem to be making a profit.

We will see!!!

I always try to treat spot.us as an experiment. That said - I want it to work, but not at the expense of lying or being untrue to what I support (the future of journalism).

I'll do another "state of the spot" - and I'll try to do it before another 6 months pass. Until then.... onward
